This Pineau des Charentes was made by Daniel Bouju from Ugni Blanc grapes in Grande Champagne, France.

Aged in French oak casks for 19 years and bottled at 18% by Malternative Belgium in 2022 (09/2022).

Pieter from Malternative Belgium writes about this Pineau des Charentes: " Our first Pineau des Charentes under our own label! In collaboration with the house of Daniel Bouju, which is very close to our hearts.
This 19 year old Pineau, a Très Vieux, has for us a perfect balance between acidity and sweetness. We don't like sticky, sugar-coated Pineau. This Pineau has aromas of sultanas, honey, raisins, gingerbread and toasted bread. This in combination with the acidity of a good Riesling wine. This makes it drinkable in both winter and summer, by the fireplace or on a sun-drenched patio.

Cognachaus Daniel Bouju is a family-run cognac house in the village of Saint Preuil, Charente, in the most beautiful countryside of the entire Cognac region. They own 30 hectares of vineyards in the heart of the famous Grande Champagne. The history of Cognac Daniel Bouju dates back to the 19th century (1805). Popular in countries around the world, this independent cognac label focuses on producing a wide range of artisanal cognacs. François Bouju continues this long tradition. With an eye for quality and their own techniques, they know how to reach many lovers with their passion. We're big fans too!"
