Until now, Lhéraud vintages almost only came in the house's black, mouth-blown bottle. Here are our 15 favourites in 20 cl, from 1970 to 1994, from Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Fins Bois and Bons Bois.
Two years ago Lhéraud filled small sample bottles of all 35 vintages in its cellar for Nicolas Kröger and me. After an epic three-hour session in Vienna, each of us kept tasting alone at home, and in the end we agreed on 13 of the 15 vintages. The last two places are our jokers.
Until now, an old Lhéraud vintage meant a decision worth 300 to 600 €. At 20 cl it is much easier to open a vintage from 120 €, taste two or three side by side or give someone their birth year. In 20 cl these vintages are only available from us, as a limited edition of 12 bottles each, and the questions we hear most often are answered below.
Sold-out bottles are listed at the end. Most of them won’t come back: single casks and old vintages exist only once. Our newsletter tells you about new releases first.
