Domaine de Danis 1985 #40 70cl (01/2026)

Merry Christmas! We have a little surprise for you. This year for the holidays Papa Noel brings you a 100% folle blanche Danis 1985 single cask!

This bottling is the 2nd release in the Armagnac.de series in collaboration with the fantastic Shane Pearlman, with gorgeous artwork by Harun Zankel. Shane, Victoire and I are incredibly proud to present you cask #40 of vintage1985!

Attention: Pre-order now! Delivery in February 2026!

This Armagnac was produced in 1985 by Domaine de Danis from Folle Blanche grapes in Armagnac Ténarèze, France.

It matured for 39 years in cask 40 in a humid warehouse and will be bottled at cask strength (47.1%) for Armagnac.de in January 2026. An alembic Armagnacais (column still) was used for distillation.

A little bit of backstory
Domaine de Danis 1986 was one of the first Armagnacs I bought in a French shop when I started my exploration into Armagnac. It’s my birth year (always a good reason to buy a bottle), it's made 100% from Folle Blanche grapes, and was bottled at cask strength, a rarity in the region. Let's say I was intrigued! Once I cracked the red wax, I was in love and it was clear that I had to taste more vintages from Danis. I eventually convinced Victoire to be one of the first brands to work directly with my little new company in 2021. As a result of our close relationship, I’ve had the honor of exploring her cellars in great depth.

When Shane and I visited Victoire in March of 2024, I kept bragging to Shane about my first love of the 1986. Victoire smiled and mentioned that she has one cask of 1985 left, which had slowly evolved in a similar direction, and that I might just find a new favorite!? Somehow, I had never tried this cask in all my previous visits. Of course we wanted to taste it!

To make it short: It was the clear favorite for both Shane and myself and it was on par with the 1986! Incredible! Luckily, this cask was still available and we quickly reserved it!

After tasting all samples of that trip at home and sharing notes, it became clear, that the 1985 was not only the favorite of Danis, but of the whole trip! We are so glad that we can share this Armagnac with you!

Pre-order and timeline
Same as with the Séailles 2001, we will bottle only the amount of bottles which have been pre-ordered (plus a tiny reserve).

Preorders are open until January 12th. All bottles will be shipped to Stuttgart on January 16th. Delivery to you will start in February as soon as we have the bottles in hand!

US Orders
Due to the changes in customs, you have to expect to pay 15% tariff on order value and around 15€ to 25€ for UPS customs brokerage fees (depending on exchange rate). This is applied by US customs to all goods from EU. We cannot avoid it unfortunately.

Both will be charged directly to you by UPS once the parcel has reached the US.

Domaine de Danis

In addition to its main business of white wines, Domaine de Danis has focused on the production of Folle Blanche Armagnac. Victoire and Vincent love the varietal's fruity style, which can be tasted in each of their vintages. Look forward to an exciting mix of tropical fruits and spicy notes of barrel aging.
