L'Encantada is releasing some real gems before Christmas! Cellar master Vincent has once again dug into his treasure trove and selected some very exciting casks for his latest single cask series, "The Silent Domains".
The Silent Domains was presented at Whisky Live in Paris and contains only Armagnacs from closed wineries.
To be honest, when they were announced, we expected these Armagnacs to all settle at €150 or more. So it's all the more pleasing that L'Encantada is offering the Silent Domaines at a very reasonable price (considering their age, rarity, and the orange wax)! All five Armagnacs are priced around €100. 🥳🥳
The Silent Domains
Artigaux 1985
If you were to mistake Blind for Calvados - apple, apple, apple!
Ludon 1998
100% Folle Blanche! Very fruity, spicy, with just the right amount of oak influence from the barrel.
Couloumé 1990
The monster of the series! If you like things extreme, you should definitely take a closer look at this Armagnac. In the Facebook group "Serious Brandy," Aaron summed it up very, very aptly: "bitter black walnut, root beer concentrate, walnut shell rancio; astringent oak tannins come in and it all fades out together over a long, bitter finish with the raisin syrup just barely making itself known along with some vanilla."
Louis Mouracs 1981
Until now, we in Europe had mostly only encountered the fruity Mouracs, whereas in the USA there have already been some oaky powerhouses from this winery. The 1981 vintage is definitely for connoisseurs who like more oak but still want some fruit and not just dust or balsamic vinegar to enjoy a glass.
Domaine del Cassou 1986 (Bourbon Finish)
Domaine Cassou never ceases to amaze me with its tequila notes! In the aroma, but especially in the taste. It's amazing how many different styles of Armagnac there are. The 1986 vintage was also finished in an ex-bourbon barrel and therefore can no longer officially be called Armagnac (it's Eau de Vie de Gascogne). Finishes in Armagnac are often a bit bland. However, in the 1986 vintage, the various aromas blend together beautifully, creating a delightful twist!

In addition, we also have a few more new Armagnacs from L'Encantada in the shop!
Domaine Larege 1982, 1986, 1989 and 1991
L'Encantada is often used synonymously with cask-strength Armagnac with plenty of power. While the Larege versions offer intensity, their initial 40% ABV makes them considerably more relaxed.
Domaine le Frêche 1990 #48 (Bottled in Nov. 2025!)
One of our all-time favorites, now freshly bottled after three more years in the barrel than its predecessor. I haven't been able to directly compare it to the 2022 vintage yet, but the nostalgia was immediate. Still one of the best Armagnacs! for me.
Bogosse (Artigaux 2015)
Young, wild, exciting! Young Armagnac can be delicious 😀 Really good in cocktails!
Have fun browsing!
