Armoni Caroni Cask Finish by Château Garreau 70cl (05/2025)

Dieser Eau de Vie wurde 2014 von Domaine de Balous aus Baco Trauben in Bas Armagnac, Frankreich hergestellt.

Er reifte für 10 Jahre in einem Medium Lagerhaus und wurde 2025 (05/2025) in Fassstärke mit 53,4% abgefüllt. Abgefüllt wurden 280 Flaschen aus Fass Nr. 135. Für die Destillation wurde eine Alambic Armagnacais (Column Still) verwendet.

Armoni vereint zwei erloschene Brennereien in einer Flasche: Le Balous, die stille Armagnac-Destillerie, die 2019 ihre Tore schloss, und Caroni, die legendäre Rum-Destillerie aus Trinidad. Ein 2014er Balous aus 100 % Baco durfte neun Monate in einem Caroni-Fass von 1999 ausklingen, das zuvor zwölf Jahre tropisch und dreizehn Jahre kontinental gereift war.

In der Nase frische Vanille, Frangipane, geschmolzene Butter und reife Banane. Am Gaumen eröffnet der Armagnac mit Tarte Tatin und gezuckerten Mandeln, dann übernimmt die süße Fülle des Caroni, sehr lang im Abgang.

Château Garreau

Château Garreau liegt in Labastide d'Armagnac, mitten im Bas Armagnac. Seit 1919 und vier Generationen destilliert die Familie hier auf dem Terroir der Sables Fauves, heute unter der Leitung von Carole Garreau. Gebrannt wird auf dem hauseigenen Sier-Alambic von 1919, gereift in drei Kellern. 1974 wurde am Château übrigens der Floc de Gascogne kreiert.
