Dieser Rum wurde 1998 von der Caroni Destillerie aus Melasse in Trinidad hergestellt.

Er reifte für 25 Jahre in einem Eichenfass und wurde 2023 für Rum Sponge in Trinkstärke mit 57.1% abgefüllt. Für die Destillation wurde eine Column Still verwendet.

Sponge schreibt zu diesem Cognac: "Rum Sponge Edition No.23 is a delectable, tar-drenched, black olive tribute band in the form of a 1998 single barrel of Caroni. Bottled at 25 years of age and our favourite bottling strength of 57.1%.

Please take a sip and a trip deep into the fabric of the cosmos itself and bake yourself a planet pie.

And thank you to NASA and the team behind the James Webb telescope for spending untold billions of dollars specifically to provide background copy for this label."
