Dieser Rum wurde 2012 von der "RRL" Destillerie aus Zuckerrohrsaft in Marie Galante, Guadeloupe hergestellt.

Er reifte für 13 Jahre in Fass A56 und wurde 2025 in Fassstärke mit 58,8% abgefüllt. Für die Destillation wurde eine Pot Still verwendet.

Robert Bauer schreibt zum RRL 2012: "Deep within the jungles of Marie Galante, two silent Creole Müller stills stand sentinel beside an overgrown warehouse. Rust cloaks their copper skins, spiderwebs veil hazy windows, and the heavy. humid air shimmers like a living curtain - thick with a leaden sloth that blurs the boundary between sleep and waking. 

In the summer of 2012, a solitary Italian distiller conjured a glowing spirit from long-fermented sugarcane juice and laid it to rest in an oak cask, deep within the legendary RVMG warehouse. There, thirteen tropical years of heat and humidity forged an old-style rhum of smoky spice, honeyed sweetness, and a restless flintstone fire.

When this rare RRL cask was finally liberated - the oldest and only independent release to date - its complex aromatic oils - notes of mint, precious woods, overripe mangoes, and a wisp of ether - rose like a veiling mist, enveloping the senses. With the first sip, the world melts away into a fevered dream of rustling palms, distant drums, and Gwada's eternal heartbeat.
